Italian Ministry Launches Drone Campaign to Showcase 30 Archaeological Sites

The Italian Ministry of Culture has launched the campaign 'In volo sull'archeologia e sulla bellezza italiana' (Flying over Archaeology and Italian Beauty), using drones to capture aerial footage of 30 cultural heritage sites. The videos reveal details such as storks on the chimneys of Castello di Racconigi, flamingos at the Po Delta near the archaeological area of Spina, and aerial views of Villa Jovis on Capri, the underground chambers of the amphitheater in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, and sites including Sepino, Alba Fucens, and Aquileia. Additional footage covers Villa Medicea di Poggio a Caiano, the museum of Sperlonga, and the Grotta di Tiberio. The campaign was presented by Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, who expressed hope that the images would inspire visits to these sites. The 30 videos were directed by Nils Astrologo, who described the project as an emotional journey and hoped his work would help a wider audience appreciate Italy's cultural heritage.
