Italian Ministry launches contest for sustainable tourism storytelling
The Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Tourism (MiBACT) and Invitalia have launched 'Viaggio in Italia. Nuovi modi di raccontare il turismo', a content marketing contest seeking six creative projects to promote proximity tourism, village tourism, and slow tourism. The initiative responds to the shift in travel habits due to COVID-19, encouraging discovery of local cultural and landscape treasures. Participants must submit proposals via the Zooppa platform by October 2, 2020, 3:00 PM. Up to two winners per category will receive a production budget of €30,000 each. Winners must deliver a final storyboard within a week of selection and complete production within five weeks of the ranking publication. Undersecretary for Tourism Lorenza Bonaccorsi emphasized investing in new ideas and languages to communicate Italy's tourist heritage, targeting startups, companies, and young innovators.
