Italian high school transformed into contemporary art gallery with over 90 works
The Liceo Duca d'Aosta in Padua, Italy, has been transformed into a contemporary art gallery featuring over 90 works by local artists. The project, initiated in February 2015 by principal Alberto Danieli, began with 'Una porta per il Duda,' inviting artists to paint classroom doors. Artists include Joys (EAD crew), Orion, Tony Gallo, Alessio-B, Gioacchino Bragato, Bruno Lorini, C0110, Giorgio Nalon, and Aldo Pallaro. The school, housed in a former convent of San Francesco Grande with expansions from the Fascist era and 1960s, has not updated its art collection for years due to financial constraints. The latest mural by Joys, completed in March 2019, covers 200 square meters on the gym facade, visible against the Basilica of Sant'Antonio.
