Italian Good People! A New Female-Led Creative Venture Merging History, Art, and Entrepreneurship

Three Italian women—textile entrepreneur Nadia Zamporetti, editor Matilde Vallenari, and artist Francesca Sacchi (aka Sakka)—have launched Italian Good People!, a project inspired by 16th-century humanist Paolo Giovio, who invented personal emblems (loghi) for Renaissance nobles. Their venture revives Giovio's crocodile emblem, originally created for Cardinal Sigismondo Gonzaga and still visible at the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie in Mantua. The initiative is a 'Wunderkammer of Italianness,' featuring Sakka's illustrations reminiscent of Italian graphic design tradition, along with 'icon stories' written by Vallenari, Giulia Morandi, and Simonetta Sargentini. The team plans to expand into a souvenir blog, exhibitions of original paintings on high-quality textiles, and innovative artbooks printed on fabric. The project aims to celebrate Italian creativity, audacity, and reliability, with an international outlook.
