Italian Embassy in London Promotes Art and Culture Post-Brexit

Francesca Dell'Apa, vice head of the economic and commercial office at the Italian Embassy in London, coordinates integrated promotion of Italy abroad, emphasizing the country's productive and creative excellence. Under Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta, the embassy aligns its cultural events with major London happenings like Frieze art fair, exemplified by 'Italy at Frieze' in October 2019, which transformed the embassy into a contemporary art museum featuring 14 works from Italian galleries, including Michelangelo Pistoletto's 'Louvre, Apollo Sauroctono'. The embassy also runs the 'A2B – Art to Business' series since 2018, connecting art, creativity, and industry; a recent event focused on Italy's role in the printing revolution and displayed a rare 1467 edition of Saint Augustine's 'De Civitate Dei' printed in Subiaco. During the COVID-19 pandemic, priorities shifted to assisting Italian nationals in coordination with consulates in London and Edinburgh, while planning to adapt future programs using technology. The embassy continues to promote Italian cuisine, such as a week-long celebration with Chef Chicco Cerea of the three-Michelin-starred 'Da Vittorio' in Brusaporto.
