Italian Drawing Retrospective at Menil Drawing Institute
The Menil Drawing Institute in Houston is hosting an exhibition titled 'Silent Revolutions: Italian Drawings from the Twentieth Century,' which runs until April 11, 2021. This display features works by famous artists like Afro, Mirella Bentivoglio, Alighiero Boetti, and others. Curated by Edouard Kopp and Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, it’s the first major retrospective in the U.S. focused on 20th-century Italian drawings. The show is made possible through collaboration with Collezione Ramo, which has a collection of over 600 avant-garde works on paper. The curators highlight how these drawings allowed artists to experiment with materials and delve into themes like history and abstraction. Previous exhibitions from Collezione Ramo were held in Milan.
