Italian Digital Art Exhibition 'Layers' Opens in Brussels

The exhibition 'Layers', part of the Refresh project curated by Fabio Paris of Link Art Center, opens at La Raffinerie in Brussels, running until May 26, 2018. Featuring 15 Italian artists, the show presents an expanded and updated version of the original 2016 Brescia edition. The title refers to the fluid and layered nature of digital information and the generational diversity of participating artists. Veterans such as Eva and Franco Mattes, Carlo Zanni, and Marco Cadioli are joined by emerging talents like Simone Monsi, Alice Palamenghi, and Kamilia Kard. Works span photography, installation, sculpture, and software art, exploring themes of code, interface, generative possibilities, memory, archive, and the tension between public and private, material and immaterial. The exhibition is organized by iMAL and will be accompanied by a talk titled 'Ways beyond the Post-Internet' on April 20, held in the context of Art Brussels.
