Italian Culture Workers Get 7.5% Pay Raise Under New National Contract

A preliminary agreement for the renewal of the National Labor Contract for culture workers covering 2022-2024 was signed at WeGil in Rome on March 4. The deal between Federculture and major public-sector unions raises base salaries by 7.5% from 2021 levels, adds an average of €1,850 in arrears per worker for January 2022 to November 2024, and doubles employer contributions to supplementary healthcare to €28.17 per month per permanent employee. The contract also streamlines professional qualification levels from 18 to 10. Andrea Cancellato, President of Federculture, expressed satisfaction and called for a unified culture contract. The agreement is a preliminary step; final signing and payment within 90 days. Negotiations for the 2025-2027 renewal are expected to start soon.
