Italian Council: 7 artists win €490k for international projects
The inaugural call from the Italian Council, initiated by DGAAP of MiBACT, has revealed its seven recipients: Alterazioni Video, Danilo Correale (born in Naples, 1982), Nicolò Degiorgis (born in Bolzano, 1985), Eva Frapiccini (born in Recanati, 1978), Alice Gosti (born in Perugia, 1985), Margherita Moscardini (born in Donoratico, 1981), and Patrick Tuttofuoco (born in Milan, 1974). They will collectively receive €490,000 for their selected projects, which include various forms such as photographs, videos, installations, and performances. The selection was made by a panel led by Federica Galloni. Notable international collaborators are Columbia University, École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Grenoble, and UCLA. Galloni emphasized the global nature of applications, reinforcing the goal of advancing Italian contemporary art. A second call for proposals will offer another €490,000, with submissions due by 12:00 on September 27, 2017.
