Italian Council 5th Edition Winners Announced, 6th Edition Opens with €1.7M

Italy's DGAAP, part of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, has revealed the six recipients of the fifth edition of the Italian Council: Francesco Arena, Riccardo Benassi, Filippo Berta, Armin Linke, Antonio Rovaldi, and Anita Sieff. This initiative supports projects from museums, cultural associations, and non-profits aimed at fostering contemporary Italian art. The sixth edition has commenced with a budget of €1,700,000, which now includes provisions for talent development and international outreach. Minister Alberto Bonisoli remarked, "Italian Council is renewing itself." Applications for this edition will be accepted starting April 5, 2019, until the deadline of May 27, 2019. The winning projects feature Arena's "Anello," Berta's "One by One," Benassi's "Morestalgia," Rovaldi's "End," Linke's "Immagini e testi," and Sieff's "Simposio sull'amore 2019."
