Italian comic artist Giuseppe Montanari dies at 86
On August 5, 2023, the esteemed Italian comic artist Giuseppe Montanari, famous for his contributions to Dylan Dog, passed away at the age of 86. He illustrated more than a hundred stories for the series, including 27 issues during the late 1980s, starting with his first work in issue #3, "Le notti della Luna Piena" (December 1986). Montanari later shifted his focus to Dylan Dog Old Boy, with his final stories, "Tempesta a Mentmore House" and "Il numero imperfetto," published in June 2023. He also worked alongside Paolo Bacilieri on covers and created the last regular issue he contributed to, #369 (2017), titled "Graphic Horror Novel." Born on November 26, 1936, he began his career in 1954 and joined Sergio Bonelli Editore in 1979.
