Italian cinemas honor David Lynch with retrospectives in Bologna, Milan, and Rome
In February, Italian cinemas are paying tribute to David Lynch, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Bologna's Cinema Modernissimo will run a retrospective from February 1 to 28, featuring notable works such as Eraserhead (1977), Blue Velvet (1986), and Inland Empire (2006), along with ten of Lynch's photographs from 1986 to 2000 displayed in the foyer. On February 6 at 5:30 PM, a lecture on Lynch's cinematic contributions will be given by Roy Menarini. Additionally, Cineteca di Bologna is releasing four cult films in theaters across Italy. Milan's Cineteca Milano will showcase Esterno notte from January 31 to February 17, while Rome's Cinema Troisi will present Directed by David Lynch from January 30 to February 5.
