Italian Artists Celebrate 75th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights at UN Geneva
From December 4 to 15, 2023, the Palais des Nations in Geneva hosted the exhibition "Arte Italiana e Diritti Umani" (Italian Art and Human Rights) in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Curated by Ilaria Berardi and organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Genesi Association, the exhibition showcases the work of sixteen Italian artists who explore significant themes from the Declaration. Notable pieces include Michelangelo Pistoletto's "Venere degli stracci," Emilio Isgrò's "Enciclopedia Treccani," and Mimmo Jodice's "Atleti di Ercolano," alongside contributions from Marinella Senatore, Danilo Correale, and Binta Diaw, each relating to specific articles of the Declaration, underscoring Italy's dedication to human rights.
