Italian art critic Antonio Del Guercio dies at 94
Antonio Del Guercio, a distinguished Italian art critic and expert on 19th-century French painting, passed away in Rome at the age of 94 following a prolonged illness. He was born in Paris in 1923 and completed his studies at the Lycée before obtaining a degree in Modern Literature from La Sapienza University in Rome. Del Guercio wrote for publications such as Opus International and taught Art History at the Albertina Academy, as well as in Lecce and Florence. His significant works include Géricault (1963) and Parigi 1750-1950, which was reissued in 2015.
