Italian art critic and journalist Enzo Rossi-Ròiss dies at 86
Enzo Rossi-Ròiss, an Italian art critic and journalist, has died at the age of 86. Born in Novoli in 1937, he studied journalism at the University of Urbino and worked for various newspapers in Lecco, Rome, and Milan before moving to Bologna. In 1964, he founded the publishing house Edizioni Svolta and its eponymous periodical. He also directed magazines such as Nucleo D (Milan, 1972), Merdre – Antologia del sapere patafisico, and Art ut Art, and ran the gallery Nucleo Arte. Rossi-Ròiss wrote on visual poetry and pataphysics, and authored novels including Il delitto Murri, which served as a source for the 1974 film Fatti di gente perbene by Mauro Bolognini and for Christina Vella's 2006 historical novel Indecent Secrets: The Infamous Murri Murder Affair. In 1997, he was commissioner for Latvia's debut at the 47th Venice Biennale, and in 2006 he curated the exhibition Priapeide for the Venice Carnival.
