Italian 18-Year-Olds to Receive €500 Culture Bonus from September 15
The Italian government will distribute a €500 Culture Bonus to 574,593 individuals who turn 18 by December 31, 2016. Funded by €290 million from the latest Stability Law, the bonus can be used to purchase books, e-books, concert tickets, exhibition entries, cinema, theater, museum admissions, and archaeological site visits. Spending is allowed until December 31, 2017. From September 15, beneficiaries can spend the bonus both traditionally and online via the dedicated smartphone app 18app. Registration requires a SPID (Public System for Digital Identity Management) from accredited providers: Poste, Aruba, Tim, Infocert, or Sielte. The initiative aims to promote cultural consumption among youth.
