Istituto VIVE launches 40-event series on art, architecture, and collecting in Rome
On January 17, the Istituto VIVE – Vittoriano e Palazzo Venezia unveiled its 2023 initiative titled 'Al centro di Roma,' which includes 40 events set in the historic heart of Rome. Under the direction of Edith Gabrielli, the program seeks to enrich VIVE's cultural landscape and rejuvenate Piazza Venezia. Curated by Costantino D'Orazio, five series of complimentary conferences in the Sala del Refettorio will explore themes of history, art, architecture, and the art market. One series, 'Passioni private,' examines the influence of private collecting on art history, featuring discussions by experts on topics spanning the 13th to 19th centuries. Gabrielli emphasized the art market's historical importance, while D'Orazio pointed out that the passion of collectors is vital for the existence of masterpieces.
