Issey Miyake's Steam Stretch Fabric Shapes Avant-Garde Lamps by atelier oï
A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE and Swiss design studio atelier oï unveiled the O Series, four sculptural lamps from their TYPE-XIII Atelier Oï project. Each lamp features a cloth shade made from Miyake's Steam Stretch material—a recycled polyester that pre-weaves design elements and shrinks with heat to create 3D pleated textures. The shades sit atop cylindrical metal bases with wire halos, inspired by organic wood and stone textures. Detachable and adjustable across four lighting tones (warm incandescent to daylight white), the collaboration began in 2025 and debuted new pieces at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 10–12, 2026.
