Isotta Bellomunno's first Roman solo show at Casa Vuota
On October 27, Casa Vuota in Rome inaugurates 'Da consumarsi preferibilmente entro', a solo exhibition by Neapolitan artist Isotta Bellomunno, organized in collaboration with Taffo Funeral Services. The space, located near Porta Furba metro, is a preserved apartment with original wallpaper and traces of previous inhabitants, deliberately avoiding the white-cube aesthetic. Bellomunno, born in 1987 and trained at Accademia di Brera in Milan, explores mortality through photography and performance, using motifs like coffins and breast milk. The series 'Io baro' transforms death-related objects into everyday furniture such as tables, sofas, and bathtubs. Site-specific works are also included. Casa Vuota founders Francesco Paolo del Re and Sabino de Nichilo describe the project as a contribution to the growing Quadraro district's cultural scene, alongside Spazio Y and numerous artist studios. The venue has been well received by press, residents, and neighbors since opening a year and a half ago.
