ISIA Roma Design Launches Seventh Edition of RDE Design Experience
The seventh edition of the RDE-Roma Design Experience, organized by ISIA Roma Design, has commenced. This initiative, which began in 2018 at the Pordenone campus, replaces regular coursework with intensive project briefs from public and research institutions. The program runs from January to June 2025, structured in four phases. The theme for this year is collective responsibility through protection and enhancement. In January, 14 workshops were held, where students, faculty, designers, and professionals collaborated on briefs from national and international entities. Participants were divided into balanced groups using an algorithm developed by a faculty member. After the workshops, an atelier phase focuses on analyzing past editions and producing a catalog that documents processes and outcomes. The final festival takes place on May 29-30 at the Museo Mattatoio in Rome, featuring a student-curated exhibition and three talks on protection and enhancement in society, territory, and anthology. The RDE is described as an immersive educational experience that connects students with real-world design applications.
