Ishara Art Foundation Opens 'Amphibian Aesthetics' in Kochi
On 13 December 2025, the Ishara Art Foundation will open Ishara House at Kashi Hallegua House in Kochi, Kerala, featuring the exhibition 'Amphibian Aesthetics.' This exhibition explores themes of precarity in the Anthropocene, such as climate crisis, displacement, extinction, and hyper-capitalism, while challenging traditional binaries like East/West and tradition/modernity. It showcases works from 12 artists and collectives, including Appupen, CAAS Collective, Dima Srouji, and others from South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Riyas Komu, the Artistic Director and co-founder of Aazhi Archives, emphasizes the exhibition's connection to oceanic themes. A public program will kick off with a panel discussion on 14 December 2025. Alserkal Avenue and Galleria Continua support Ishara House.
