Isern Serra designs Napoli on the Road pizzeria in London's Soho

Spanish designer Isern Serra has completed the interior of Napoli on the Road, a pizza restaurant in London's Soho area, drawing on Mediterranean vernacular architecture. The 80-square-metre ground floor and 35-square-metre basement feature rounded corners, curved built-in furniture, and a restrained material palette of wood, stone, plasterboard, and continuous flooring. Serra aimed to create a 'relaxed and welcoming atmosphere' inspired by chef Michele Pascarella's Italian roots, integrating seating and shelving into walls to reduce visual noise. The design avoids decorative elements, relying on light, materiality, and proportion. A stainless steel bar counter and a dark red hue in the downstairs dining room provide contemporary contrast.
