His victory comes with a R$ 15,000 donation, and he is required to donate a work to the Instituto PIPA, to be selected in agreement with the artist and the coordination. Maxakali, who identifies as Tikmū’ūn, stated that his work in film and drawing aims to make his people known, asserting that his recognition and prizes are shared by his community. This marks the third time the online category has awarded an Indigenous artist, fulfilling its goal to increase visibility for artists less present in the Rio-São Paulo axis.
