Isabelle Giovacchini's Alchemical Photography Explores Time and Invisibility
Isabelle Giovacchini, who was born in 1982 in Nice, divides her time between Nice and Paris, focusing on the fleeting nature of time. This summer, she will showcase her work at CCC de Tours, Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire in Paris, and Mamac in Nice. Her artistic process involves creating prints in a paddling pool and photocopying images until they become completely dark. Drawing inspiration from early photographers and aviation pioneers, her notable pieces include 'Cri', 'Fendre l'air', and 'Sonate des spectres'. Installations such as 'Ambre' and 'About: blank' explore various themes. Recent solo exhibitions took place at Galerie Isabelle Gounod (2011), Frac Champagne-Ardenne (2011), Biennale de Bourges (2012), and Chez-robert.com (2012), while group exhibitions featured Nuit de l'instant (2012) and Bonjour, monsieur Matisse (2013).
