Isabel Coixet adapts Michela Murgia's 'Tre ciotole' into film, premiering at TIFF 2025

Isabel Coixet's film adaptation of Michela Murgia's posthumous novel 'Tre ciotole' will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (September 4–14, 2025). The cast includes Alba Rohrwacher, Elio Germano, Silvia D'Amico, Galatea Bellugi, Francesco Carril, and Sarita Choudhury. The screenplay is by Coixet and Enrico Audenino. The film is an Italo-Spanish co-production by Cattleya, Ruvido Produzioni, Bartlebyfilm, and Vision Distribution, with support from Italy's Ministry of Culture and the Spanish government, and participation from Sky, RTVE, and MAX. Vision Distribution will release it in Italian cinemas on October 9, 2025. Murgia's book, published by Mondadori in 2023, sold over 200,000 copies. The story follows Marta, who stops eating after a breakup, and Antonio, an ambitious chef, exploring themes of illness and loss.
