Irandhir Santos Reflects on Career and Brazilian Cinema in Candid Interview

Actor Irandhir Santos discusses his prolific career spanning theater, television, and film in a detailed interview. Born in Barreiros, Pernambuco, Santos moved frequently during childhood due to his father's banking career before settling in Limoeiro at age 14. His acting journey began in school theater productions, including an adaptation of "O Mistério do Cinco-Estrelas." After studying at the Colégio Preparatório Integrado in Recife, he pursued performing arts at the Federal University of Pernambuco. Santos made his film debut in 2005 with "Cinema, Aspirinas e Urubus" by Marcelo Gomes, followed by "Baixio das Bestas" with Cláudio Assis. He has since appeared in 20 feature films, eight theater plays, and five television productions, including collaborations with director Luiz Fernando Carvalho.
