Ipercorpo Festival 2023: Dance, Theater, and Contemporary Art in Forlì

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The 19th edition of the Ipercorpo festival, titled 'InPresenza', runs from September 14 to 17 in Forlì, Italy. The festival explores the relationship between artists, works, and audiences, emphasizing live presence over digital consumption. It takes place at the renovated EXATR (former bus depot) and Arena Forlivese. Artistic director Claudio Angelini, along with curators Valentina Bravetti and Mara Serina (theater and dance), Davide Fabbri and Elisa Gandini (music), and Davide Ferri (contemporary art), oversee the program. International names include Sharon Fridman and Jean Gaudin. The festival features a new production, BRAVE, which debuted at Opera Prima in Rovigo. The contemporary art section, curated by Davide Ferri, includes artists Francesco Bendini, Matteo Fato, Victor Fotso Nyie, Marta Roberti, Silvia Camporesi, and Franco Guerzoni. Camporesi and Guerzoni will engage with the Verzocchi Collection, contributing to the digital project collezioneverzocchi.com, created by Città di Ebla in collaboration with the Comune di Forlì. Angelini describes the festival as a pact among six curators and a community of artists and audiences, stressing the political responsibility of active viewing, quoting Romeo Castellucci: 'today looking is not an innocent act'. The EXATR space was regenerated through efforts by Città di Ebla and Spazi Indecisi, with support from Azienda Trasporti Romagna, Comune di Forlì, and Regione Emilia-Romagna.
