Ioan Sbârciu's First Solo Exhibition at Sector 1 Gallery in Bucharest
The Sector 1 Gallery in Bucharest, run by Andreea Stanculeanu, is hosting the first solo exhibition of Romanian painter Ioan Sbârciu (born 1948 in Feldru). The show features immersive, large-scale canvases evoking Transylvanian landscapes, alongside two sculptural casts of human models placed in corners of the gallery, suggesting an emergence from the wall. A notable section is dedicated to works inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' 'Don Quixote,' rendered with impulsive, spontaneous gestures. The exhibition was reviewed by Antonello Tolve, a professor of Pedagogy and Didactics of Art at the Accademia Albertina di Torino.
