IO01: Italy's first magazine dedicated to Technological Humanism launches in Brescia

publication · 2026-04-27

IO01, Italy's first magazine focused on Technological Humanism, has been launched in Brescia. The title combines 'IO' (the self) with binary digits 0 and 1, signaling its mission to bridge humanistic culture with digital revolution. The print, semestral publication is a collaboration between Accademia di Belle Arti Santa Giulia, publishing house Studium (founded in Brescia in 1927), and Phoenix Informatica. Directed by Cristina Casaschi and Massimo Tantardini, the magazine features graphic design by students of the academy. It includes a scientific committee and a digital portal to support debate. Issue zero features contributions from Promemoria, Europe's first system for historical archives, and Studio Azzurro, a multimedia art collective. A call for papers for issue one is open until March 15, 2021, inviting academics, researchers, artists, and entrepreneurs to reflect on the relationship between humans, technology, and art.
