Invernomuto's debut feature 'Negus' premieres at Live Arts Week in Bologna
Invernomuto, the artistic duo of Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi, debuted their first feature film 'Negus' at the closing of the fifth edition of Live Arts Week at MAMbo in Bologna. The screening was accompanied by live performances from Lamin Fofana, Primitive Art, and Duppy Gun Productions with I Jahbar. The film, shot in Italy, Ethiopia, and Jamaica, draws inspiration from a true event in Vernasca, Italy, where in 1936 a returning soldier burned an effigy of Emperor Haile Selassie I. 'Negus' integrates video, installation, writing, sound, and performance. It was supported by a MiBAC fund after the duo participated in Berlinale Talents in 2014. The film will screen again from May 5 to 11 at Cinema Beltrade in Milan.
