Intimate Collection #2: Photography Exhibition Revives 16th-Century Borgo Foresta
The 16th-century Borgo Foresta in Tora e Piccilli, on the slopes of the Roccamonfina volcano in Caserta province, reopens CorpoCeleste_CostantementeTemporaneo—a hybrid space combining a meeting place, art gallery, and theater workshop. Founded three years ago by writer Antonio Maiorino Marrazzo and photographer Massimo Pastore, the venue now hosts the second edition of Intimate Collection #2, curated by Maiorino Marrazzo. The exhibition features works from the Primo Piano gallery, which operated in Naples from 2006 to 2022 and relocated to Borgo Foresta in 2023 under the name Corpo Celeste. The show presents international photographic research in a contemplative natural setting, with exhibition spaces integrated into ancient wells and cellars carved into prehistoric lava, leading to panoramic terraces. Artists include Nan Goldin, Tobias Zielony, Nobuyoshi Araki, Luca Zanier, Wim Wenders, Gabriele Basilico, Margherita Verdi, Karen Stuke, and Massimo Pastore. The project is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the village, including the summer festival Forestàte – Il paesaggio delle differenze, featuring music, theater, and art. The exhibition runs in Borgo Foresta, Tora e Piccilli, Campania.
