cultural-heritage · 2026-05-04

In its 18th iteration, Intesa Sanpaolo's Restituzioni initiative has successfully restored 212 pieces ranging from ancient to modern art, showcased for the first time at the Reggia di Venaria. This marks the inaugural exhibition held outside the bank's Gallerie d'Italia locations in Milan, Naples, and Vicenza. Established in 1989 by Feliciano Benvenuti, the program partners with Italian cultural authorities every two years, having restored approximately 1,300 artworks. The exhibition, named "La fragilità della bellezza," includes 80 collections from 17 regions, featuring a Bellotto from Dresden. Noteworthy pieces encompass frescoes from the Tomb of Henib, Van Dyck's Portrait of Caterina Balbi Durazzo, Titian's Penitent Saint Jerome, and significant artifacts like a Tupinambá mantle and a 17th-century painted harpsichord.
