Intesa Sanpaolo replaces Unicredit as Artissima's main partner
Intesa Sanpaolo has become the new main partner of Artissima, replacing Unicredit after seventeen years. The 27th edition of the fair will take place from November 6 to 8, 2020 at the Oval in Turin. Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima, stated that the partnership stems from a shared belief in investing in art and culture for the country's growth. Michele Coppola, Executive Director of Art, Culture and Historical Heritage at Intesa Sanpaolo, explained that the collaboration is a natural step as the bank prepares to open a new Gallerie d'Italia venue in Piazza San Carlo, Turin, dedicated to photography, digital art, and image, with a first section expected by the end of 2021. The bank will present works from its modern and contemporary art collection at a dedicated space during the fair. Despite allocating 100 million euros to combat COVID-19, Intesa Sanpaolo has maintained support for cultural institutions. The partnership also aims to support Turin's status as a major art city in Europe.
