Intesa Sanpaolo Funds Biennial Restoration Campaign Across Italy

Intesa Sanpaolo has launched a two-year restoration campaign called 'Restituzioni' in partnership with the Polo Museale fiorentino and the Associazione per il restauro del patrimonio artistico italiano. The restored works will be on display from tomorrow through June at Palazzo Pitti and the Convento di San Marco in Florence. Approximately eighty artworks will be restored, including a glazed terracotta frieze from the Villa medicea di Poggio a Caiano, a precious San Michele Arcangelo from the Cappella del Tesoro di San Gennaro in Naples, an Apulian krater from the 4th century BC, the Situla eburnea di Gotofredo from the Tesoro del Duomo di Milano, and Dosso Dossi's San Sebastiano from the Pinacoteca di Brera. The highlight is Beato Angelico's Tabernacolo dei Linaioli, restored by the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, which will be the centerpiece of a monographic focus at the Museo di San Marco.
