International Prize Offers Exhibition Alongside Modigliani in Palermo

A new international art prize, 'Insieme a Modì', offers winners the chance to exhibit alongside works by Amedeo Modigliani at Palazzo Bonocore in Palermo. The competition is part of Palermo's year as Italian Capital of Culture and coincides with Manifesta 12, the itinerant biennial. The multimedia exhibition 'Les Femmes – Modigliani Experience' will be held at Palazzo Bonocore from November 3, 2018, to March 31, 2019, featuring digital reproductions of Modigliani's works focused on female beauty. Thirty winners of the prize will have their works displayed in a dedicated section within this exhibition. Organized by Navigare srl in collaboration with the Istituto Amedeo Modigliani, the prize anticipates the centenary of Modigliani's death in 2020. Categories include painting, sculpture and installation, photographic art, and digital graphics. Participants must submit by September 30, 2018, with an entry fee of €500 (€300 for under-20s). The prize is intended as a pilot, to be repeated in future venues of the Modlight® format. Salvatore Lacagnina of Navigare srl stated that only one work per artist will be selected, which may be previously exhibited. The competition is open to all, with submission forms available online.
