International call for new director of Pompeii Archaeological Park
The Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage has launched an international search for a new General Director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park. This position was temporarily filled by Massimo Osanna, who now serves as the Director General of Museums following the end of Antonio Lampis's term on August 28. Osanna remarked on the substantial developments since 2014. The incoming director will manage initiatives such as the protection of the insula meridionalis and the restoration of the Spolettificio in Torre Annunziata. The park encompasses several locations, including Oplontis, Boscoreale, and Stabiae. The role offers a four-year fixed-term contract, renewable, with an annual salary of €148,837.25 plus bonuses. Applications are due by November 3, 2020, with the appointment anticipated by March 31, 2021.
