Interaction Biennial at Made in Cloister, Naples, Explores Dialogue Over Conflict

exhibition · 2026-04-27

The inaugural edition of the biennial exhibition 'Interaction' has launched at Fondazione Made in Cloister in Naples, under the curation of Demetrio Paparoni. Featuring 28 artists from diverse generations and backgrounds, the exhibition explores dialogue as a means to counter conflict. Although the artworks were selected and created prior to the Russian-Ukrainian war, they echo current global tensions. Highlights include Julian Schnabel's bloodstained maps of Ukraine from 'Nothing to be gained here', a large mural triptych by Nicola Verlato, Paolo Iacchetti, and Paolo Bini, and Joana Vasconcelos' red fabric heart hanging beneath the Bourbon drying structure. Other contributors are Maurizio Cattelan with 45 taxidermied pigeons and artists like Mimmo Paladino and Wang Guangyi. The exhibition is situated in the main cloister of the former convent of Santa Caterina a Formiello, close to Porta Capuana.
