Instagram page 'Soffitti dalle finestre' captures painted ceilings from windows

Three Italian friends born in 1995—Emanuela, Bianca, and Federica—met while studying engineering in Pisa and launched the Instagram profile 'Soffitti dalle finestre' (Ceilings from Windows) in April 2023. The page shares photos of decorated ceilings and interiors glimpsed through windows, focusing on frescoes, chandeliers, plants, and facade details. By July 2026, it has grown to 124,000 followers. Initially the founders took the photos themselves, but now receive submissions from followers across Italy and Europe, especially from Liguria, the Netherlands, and Spain. The page does not disclose locations, though some are recognizable, such as Palazzo Pamphilj and Palazzo Marignoli in Rome. The project encourages people to look up and appreciate Italy's artistic heritage, as many palaces are private and only visible from outside. The account was boosted by a mention from the Instagram page 'Eccellenza Italiana'.
