Instagram page PUTINPEACE collects art and testimonies against war in Ukraine

digital · 2026-04-27

Three Italian artists—Andreana Ferri, Umberto Cofini, and Fabrizio Spucches—traveled to the Romania-Ukraine border to document and support refugees fleeing the Russian invasion. After creating portraits, interviews, and reportage, Ferri and Cofini returned to Italy with a family of three Ukrainian refugees, while Spucches continued to Moldova and the Sighetu Marmatiei bridge in Romania, greeting arrivals with 'Welcome to European Union.' Their testimonies are published on the Instagram page @putinpeace. The page has rapidly collected dozens of artworks from around the world, including contributions from photographer Oliviero Toscani, fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, and street artist TvBoy, as well as many graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, and visual artists. The project's name is both an exhortation and an appeal for peace. The Instagram channel will close when the war ends, as stated: 'The Gallery will close when the war is over.' The initiative aims to send messages of peace to the Ukrainian population and affirm a clear stance against the ongoing war.
