Instabili Vaganti launches digital archive of 20 years of performances

digital · 2026-04-26

The Bologna-based theatre company Instabili Vaganti, founded in 2004 by director and visual artist Anna Dora Dorno and performer and playwright Nicola Pianzola, has launched a digital archive. The archive collects two decades of research, studies, and productions, including web series, documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, full-length performance videos, and experimental films. Some content is free; a symbolic subscription fee unlocks exclusive materials. Among the archived works are the original soundtrack Alone in the Crowd, produced with composer Riccardo Nanni and his production house 7floor, video performances from the international project Beyond Borders shot at the archaeological sites of Oudna and Carthage in Tunisia (a co-production with the National Theatre and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis), and the full video of The Global City, co-produced with the Teatro Nazionale di Genova and the FIDAE Festival in Uruguay. The founders describe the archive as the outcome of years of research into hybrid and transmedial artistic creation, aiming to turn digital tools into a permanent creative and archival resource.
