Insieme per Roma: Photographers Sell Works to Support Rome's Third Sector Forum
Four professional photographers—Giulia Natalia Comito, Barbara Santoro, Angelina Chavez, and Giulia Lupi—have launched a crowdfunding initiative called "Insieme per Roma" to raise funds for Forum Terzo Settore del Lazio, a network of 33 organizations operating in volunteering, social cooperation, and ethical finance since 1999. During the pandemic lockdown, the photographers captured the surreal atmosphere of deserted Roman streets. The resulting 110 photographs are available for purchase on the Eppela platform, with proceeds entirely donated to the Forum. The Forum's spokesperson Francesca Danese reports rising poverty in Rome, delayed unemployment benefits, and a quintupling of aid requests while donations decline. Funds will support a summer center for children from families not eligible for subsidies, Forum activities, and printing costs. The project combines friendship and philanthropy, with the photographers obtaining permits from Francesca to shoot for ten days.
