Inside the Uffizi: Sky Arte documentary goes behind the scenes of Florence museum

Sky Arte will air the documentary "Inside the Uffizi" on Tuesday, August 5, directed by Corinna Belz and Enrique Sánchez Lansch. The film offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, the second oldest museum in the world. Footage was shot during exchanges with British artist Antony Gormley regarding the placement of one of his sculptures for his exhibition at the museum. The documentary shows former director Eike Schmidt and his team at work, balancing conservation and renewal. The directors noted that after initial hesitation, staff members deeply identified with their work and the legacy of previous generations.
