Inside KEH: A Look at the World's Largest Pre-Owned Camera Retailer and Its Repair Center

PetaPixel visited KEH's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, to explore the operations of the world's largest pre-owned camera retailer. Founded in 1979, KEH handles hundreds of cameras and lenses daily, with over 60,000 pieces of equipment on hand. The company's facility includes a retail floor, a vast warehouse, and a manufacturer-approved repair center, which is the largest third-party repair facility in the country. KEH is also a Sony authorized repair facility, equipped with state-of-the-art certified equipment. The tour highlighted the company's commitment to sustainability, as it salvages parts from beyond-repairable units to keep gear out of landfills. Staff members, including Cameron Baskin, Tech Line Supervisor, and Nick Cecchini, Repair Operations Manager, emphasized the collective knowledge required to handle 150 years of technology and the company's efforts to independently source parts. The visit also included a look at the Camera Vault, housing rare items like ALPA cameras, Rolleiflexes, and a Nikkor 13mm f/5.6 commissioned for NASA.
