INS Studio Transforms Professor's Residence into Community Literacy Hub in Makassar
INS Studio has converted a former university professor's residence in Makassar, Indonesia, into Taobun Literacy House, a community-oriented space combining a café, library, and workspace. Located in an educational district surrounded by universities, schools, and kindergartens, the project centers on a compact library that anchors the layout. The design includes tactile guiding blocks, braille signage, and ramps for accessibility. Outdoor seating uses reclaimed timber from dismantled traditional houses.
