Innocult Fest: Augmented Reality and Digital Arts Festival at MEET Milan
MEET, the International Center for Digital Art and Culture in Milan, will host Innocult Fest from April 8 to 10, 2022. The festival showcases installations, performances, and projects exploring how the creative industry can embrace digital innovation. Organized in collaboration with Spanish art and technology center ETOPIA and Portuguese innovation agency INOVA+, Innocult Fest is the final stage of the European Innocult project co-funded by the European Commission. The project targets Media and Content Industries, including TV, cinema, radio, record labels, multimedia production, new media, video games, creative agencies, cultural enterprises, and performing arts. Visitors can view projects from Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese participants and attend live performances. MEET will also host workshops and talks on XR. MEET itself was established with support from Fondazione Cariplo to bridge Italy's digital divide, believing innovation is cultural before technological. The 1,500-square-meter space, designed by Carlo Ratti Associati, emphasizes fluidity, interconnection, and participation, and also houses Milan's Cineteca.
