Inhotim Announces 2024 Program with Solo Exhibitions, Commissions, and International Festival

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Júlia Rebouças, the artistic director of Inhotim, has unveiled the 2024 artistic agenda, which features monographic initiatives and immersive solo exhibitions set to launch in April and October. The inaugural events on April 13 will showcase 'O Barco' by Portuguese artist Grada Kilomba at Galeria Galpão and a presentation by Minas Gerais artist Paulo Nazareth at Galeria Praça. Kilomba’s installation, crafted from carbonized wood blocks and inscribed with a poem in six languages, will develop over two years through performances and workshops. Nazareth's ongoing exhibition, inspired by the Palmital housing complex, will also include a banana plantation. Additionally, exhibitions from Rivane Neuenschwander, Pipilotti Rist, and Rebeca Carapiá are planned for later in the year. The program will introduce Inhotim's inaugural International Music Festival in July and the 'Transmutar: International Seminar' during Environment Week. Rebouças also emphasizes the formation of an education directorate led by Gleyce Heitor, along with changes initiated around 2022, including a collaboration with IPEAFRO.
