Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Game Revealed at Microsoft Developer Direct

Microsoft unveiled the first trailer for 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle' during its Developer Direct event. The game is set between the first film 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' (1936) and the third film 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' (1938), ignoring the second film which is a prequel. It is primarily a first-person adventure with third-person sections, featuring a young Harrison Ford avatar. Developed by MachineGames, the game involves using the archaeologist's whip to uncover a secret linking sacred sites worldwide, forming a 'great circle.' The franchise has seen multiple video game adaptations since 1982's 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' for Atari 2600, including the acclaimed 'Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis' by LucasArts. No new official Indiana Jones games have been released in over a decade, partly due to the franchise's struggles at the box office with 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' and the recent 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,' which reportedly caused a $100 million loss for Disney. 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle' is scheduled for release in 2024 on PC and Xbox Series S/X, and will be included in the Game Pass subscription service.
