Independent Brussels Returns with Stronger Second Edition
The New York-born fair Independent, founded by gallerists, has returned to Brussels for its second edition, held in the awkward Vanderborght building. The fair has quickly assembled a lineup of participants that surpasses the main fair in allure and prestige: Gladstone, Office Baroque, Peres Projects, and notably David Zwirner—with a remarkable stand featuring a group show of many artists on wallpaper—are present here rather than at the so-called 'main' fair. A charming catalog designed by Mousse, composed of stamps from all 70 participating galleries, is not to be missed. The fair runs until April 23, 2017.
