Independent Art Fair Expands to Pier 36 and Breuer Building
Established in 2009, Independent has earned the title of the art fair most cherished by the art community. This year marks significant changes: the contemporary art fair will shift from Tribeca to the more spacious Pier 36 on the Lower East Side this month. Meanwhile, the 20th Century edition, which debuted in 2022, is set to transition from South Street to the renowned Breuer building at Madison Avenue and East 75th Street in September. Previously, the Breuer building housed the Whitney Museum and currently serves as the headquarters for Sotheby's.
