festival-fair · 2026-04-22

From March 8 to 11, 2012, the Independent art fair took place at 548 West 22nd Street in New York City, operating on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. The airy installation, designed by architect Christian Wassmann, was housed in the former Dia Center for the Arts, featuring a roof aligned from North to South, which facilitated a smooth flow of galleries across three levels. Sam Windett's white-on-white paintings were showcased by The Approach, while Maureen Paley presented Daria Martin's 16mm film, Closeup Gallery. At gb agency, Mac Adams's 1976 installation Black Mail illustrated a dark scene. Additionally, Andrea Bowers's Tree sits – Canopy Camping was displayed at Andrew Kreps Gallery, and Moyra Davey showed grainy close-ups of a ten-dollar bill. The fourth floor included Rob Pruitt's silver-tape chairs and poignant works by Dan Miller.
